La Bihourderie is a farmhouse draped in ivy and full of character. Its architecture is typical of the Tourangelle region and it is situated in the midst of a wooded park of 5000 m². Its history dates back to the 13th century when it was once home to the Bohors who trained knights for jousting tournaments. In the beginning of the 1990's it was renovated and converted to a bed and breakfast. It is here in total peace and quiet, in the open countryside, that we invite you to come and taste the pleasures of central France.

La Bihourderie is located in the heart of the Loire valley at 25 km to the south of Tours and at only 10 km from Loches. An ideal location in a region rich in culture and heritage beyond compare. You can, at leisure, explore the châteaux (castles) of the Loire, the homes of writers like Balzac, Descartes, Ronsard and Rabelais and also the numerous abbeys and gardens of the Loire Valley. Touraine has several outdoor activities to offer too, numerous cycling trails, canoeing, horseback riding, ULM, helicopter tours etc…


	Awarded several times by the Gîtes de France association, due to the diversity of its plantations, the garden offers you the perfect setting to relax in. Enjoy a game of boules or an afternoon lazing in the hammock or in the garden chairs on the terrace overlooking the sunflower or wheat fields.

For the more sporting you can play table-tennis, table football, badminton or work out in the fitness room. The children can play in the sand pit or on the swings and slide or on the trampoline. We also have bicycles for hire if you wish to explore the various cycling tracks in Touraine.

Our guest rooms are independent from the main house. Three are on ground level and two are on the first floor. They all share a large drawing room equipped with a kitchen area. You will find tea and coffee making facilities, a microwave, a traditional oven, two electric plates, refrigerator and kitchenware.

All our rooms are provided with top quality bedding and a private bathroom. Each room is named after a Van Gogh painting and its decoration is inspired by it.

A hearty breakfast awaits you every morning, served in our dining room or weather permitting, in the garden. Fresh bread, croissants, homemade jams, fruit, cereals, yoghurts, fruit juice and a choice of hot beverages. Breakfast is served between 8am and 9.30am.

You are welcome to join us for an evening meal – traditional French cooking accompanied with local cheeses and wine. Evening meals are served at 7.30pm every day except Wednesdays and Sundays and must be reserved in advance.

Prices are per room, per night and include breakfast.

Special Conditions

A discount of 5€ per night per room is given for reservations of a minimum 2 consecutive nights (see table above for these prices).

The tariffs for 2 people are based on a couple sharing the same bed. If you would like 2 separate beds the standard price is 60€ and the special price is 55€ per night. For the family suite, les Pêchers en Fleurs, the standard price is 70€ and the special price is 65€ per night.

The tariff for 3 people is based on the use of 2 beds. If you would like to use 3 beds the standard price is 75€ and the special price is 70€ per night.

Practical Information

We accept payment by cash, credit card (commission of 2% to be added) and cheques drawn on French banks.

Arrival time is between 6pm and 7.30pm. If you think you will arrive later than this please let us know in advance.

The guest rooms must be vacated by 10.30am the day of departure.

The house is entirely non-smoking.

Pets are not accepted.
